Parenting Tips

1. BE SURE TO CREATE "FAMILY TIME"

STOP AND TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU'D LIKE

TO DO AS A FAMILY AND SPEND TIME WITH

 YOUR CHILDREN

(FAMILY DINNERS, BEDTIME STORIES,

TRIPS TO THE PARK)

2. PREPARE FOR A GREAT

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE

MAKE A LIST OF THINGS TO TELL THE

 TEACHER ABOUT YOUR CHILD (INTERESTS,

STRENGTHS, CHALLENGES, ETC.)

3. HELP YOUR CHILD CREATE A WORD BANK

WHEN WRITING A STORY - THIS WILL

ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO THINK OF WORDS

IN ADVANCE AND MAKE IT EASIER FOR

 THEM TO WRITE.

Number Three School

About Our School

Number Three School

Number Three School was built in 1908 and is located at 403 Cliff St. The building houses approximately 215 students in grades two and three. The school also has one learning center that services children in grades two and three. The students receive all the core curriculum academic subjects as well as music, library, art, physical education and Spanish as a world language. A part time speech teacher addresses the students speech needs and we service many children in our resource center program. The students in need of remedial services receive basic skills instruction in reading, language arts and math.

Students who are new to the country receive ESL (English as a Second Language) and the students who qualify also receive Bilingual Reading and Math instruction.

The ESL program services the students five days per week, 30 minutes per day. The Bilingual program is also five days per week for each subject. Number Three School has the “little school house” atmosphere where staff members get to know the pupils and parents on a more personal level.
